Overlooking the Baltic Sea, a once-bustling hotel now sits eerily empty, drawing in artists and photographers alike. Since it was abandoned a few years back, the place has transformed into a dystopian wonderland, where street artists have turned its walls into canvases. The hotel’s untouched ruins have become a magnet for both locals and tourists, who are curious to explore what was once a vibrant “sanatorium.”
Hotel Zdrowie, once a lively seaside spa hotel in Orłowo, Gdynia, with a stunning view of the Baltic Sea, now stands abandoned, a shadow of its former self. Built in 1962 and expanded in 1967, the hotel was a popular getaway, featuring three floors of guest rooms, a uniquely shaped rotunda canteen, and room for 160 guests. It was a hotspot during the summer, often fully booked, and served as the backdrop for countless events, from weddings and christenings to conferences and training sessions.
In 2005, the hotel had to close due to the instability of the cliff it was perched on, which had become too dangerous. After sitting empty for several years, disaster hit on June 12th, 2013, when a massive fire swept through the building, destroying windows, furniture, curtains, and bedding. Since then, Hotel Zdrowie has remained abandoned, its once lively rooms now eerily vacant, drawing in artists, photographers, and curious visitors captivated by its haunting atmosphere.
